Default The National Identity

nowadays I read in a lot of newspaper articles and columns ,how Bangladesh is struggling about national identity. Its mostly about the war in 'fundamentalism' and 'secularism(liberalism)'.
some survey in circa 2004 revealed that religion came first for identification.yet there are certain groups saying we should be secular and Bangladeshi first and then Muslim/Non-Muslim after.

what do you people think?should we identify ourselves as Muslims and our country as a Muslim country or rather should we identify ourselves as Bangladeshis and BD as a secular country?

identification makes impacts on political alignments, too.

One of the sites that made me to start thinking about it.
