well everyone here seems to be talking about making the parents to be more responsible and make them let their children be aware of sex and etc, but what would you say for those parents who themselves abuse their own children both sexually and in other ways ? Before pointing our fingers to the parents we ourselves have to educate ourselves first and foremost ! As for people not talking about it in public or anything - well its not really a conversation starter is it ? Thats where the problem is - We'll talk about HIV or AIDS and how it is spread and why Abuse is such a hideous crime and all but we shall never EVER talk about SEX - its pros and cons.
All we learn about sex is from school textbooks but those are just the basics - for most people thats just it - but we most of us don't know what the religious barriers are on this issue because nobody ever tells us. What we need to prevent Sexual Harassment and Abuse is Social Awareness - starting with oneself at the beginning is important. Not only awareness we need proper laws and people with sane mentality who are ready to speak out and who can ensure us with the information that Justice will be served if we want it !
