look at the case of the 19 yr old gang-rape victim in saudi arabia where she was ordered to undergo 200 lashes,(becoz she was raped!).so, i believe it is not the case of religion as much as how it is interpreted by ppl who has the luxury to do so.Moreover, many of the cases of child sexual abuse goes unreported in bangladesh.the best way to over come this,is through better public education and creating awareness.it is time, that the government should liberalise the national education system, rather face the option of more madrassas interpreting islam in their own ways and brainwashing the young population.
