Suppose a child is 8 or 10 years old.What mental awareness or ability he would achieve on his own in this age??Will he understand the concept of perversion or abuse from some books which he can't even read correctly at that time? Or he would gather this knowledge through other means which as well as can misguide him!!!The sense that he needs to educate himself about abuse and other things isn't likely to grow at that time.Obviously he needs a mentor and i don't see a better one other than his parents in most of the cases.
Some perverts abuse their own children, it is becoming more common day by day.I don't see a possible way to identify them before they abuse their children.
