* Agree or disagree with the following statement:
"It is more important to a long-term relationship to be compassionate than to be passionate."

This is the first time I'm reading this thread!

I don't totally agree with the statement and therefore, I go for passion!

1. If you don't have passion for the one you love, love dies eventually. The attraction fades away.

2. Another meaning of passion can be sexual desire. I think it is also important because at some point of a long-term relationship you will grow this feeling for your loved one and it is totally normal. Don't feel guilty if you do.

3. As a human being you will be compassionate or have sympathy for the one you love anyway. I don't want to feel pity for him and cling onto the relationship. I want to be passionate and love him forever.

i ll go for compassion. and i don't believe passion can lead to a long term relationship.
