It is possible for AI to surprass human functioning level by long shot. The ability to multi-task, and the precision rate of their job will ensure that.
However, it is not possible for the AI to ever make it into the complex world of decision making and management. What I think is that they do a sort of percentage calculation to find the probability of better performing one task than the other. Humans goes further than that...it can interact with other component to complement the action, it can draw parallel between events and take actions, it can take long term projects in mind take action, or it can judge other human's reaction and act accordingly.
I think that is why AI will never be able to replace humans in top positions. Sure, they can perform the same jobs as machines...just reducing the cost that would incurr from division of labor. But in the end, the management positions will be in the hands of humans.
AI have a long way to go in temrs of human emotions too. They just don't have our raging hormones. I doubt they will start creating machines that will carry along tubes of chemicals that suddenly enable them to laugh (remembering a joke), cry at odd times (remembering a lost one)...and so on.
It is at this time that I am truly surprised with the potential that God has created us with. Other than that, I feel like I am a huge waste o' human brain. Lol. |
