IIRC,its bound to happen sometimes in discussions.personal attacks that is.really Turkish this decision.

the above reasons, i find extremely ridiculous and appalling at the same time.
1st of all, religious beliefs are strengthened through discussions and debates.NOT By branding discussions on religion a TABOO.......
2nd Faith in god,{by wat ever name we call him\her} is based on understanding and better understanding is achieved through conversations not by being incommunicative.

needs_fire -- agreed. this what i said in my Philosophy essay. however, these debates about God nd religion r pointless in the sense that atheists nd theists can never come to an absolute conclusion about the existence of God or the truthfulness of religion. but that doesn't mean people shouldn't share their beliefs through conversation. one thing everyone should keep in mind is that they should not try to impose their beliefs on others but rather, talk through it. when they don't share, they become close-minded. then result = they don't learn to be tolerant about other people's beliefs which then builds their stereotypical side. (NOT GOOD AT ALL!)
if u think about it, there r convincing facts from both sides (theists nd atheists) but not enough to conclude nd say that one religion is right/wrong or God (doesn't) exist(s). as someone once said, "it takes as much faith to believe in religion as it does to believe in the big bang theory." think about it.

honestly, i thought about it a couple of times nd then concluded that it would be waste of my time .. just like it was when i opened the "Using the F-word in Golpo" thread .. u should read what people wrote in there ... sure gonna piss u off.
