i think the book portrayed more of the bad sides of Bangladeshis than the good sides. like it talked about some Sylheti people being the slums of society even when they emigrate abroad. basically, if any person reads it, they won't find much good things about Bangladeshis in the book. i didn't.
nd the the character that i hated the most was Chanu. i mean he was a good husband nd all that. he did everything for Nazneen but he never gave a chance to her to speak . Nazneen actually spoke very little in the book nd i just feel that Bengali women were portrayed as oppressed by their husbands nd oder struggle onek beshi dekhano hoise. the novel was quite long ... nd quite boring, no offense. wonder how the movie will turn out .
