Career Opportunity: Government jobs & Private jobs

now a days career counseling is a commonly used term and we have several job realted websites for Fresh Graduates to look and get a job of their liking. even many Educational Institutes facilitate Job Fair quite frequent for Employer-Employee relation build up.
Every type of job has its' Pros & Cons. So it's hard to decide or define which sector is BEST!
You have to make sure that "It's not the JOB you NEED, rather, the JOB you would LOVE to do"!

Personal Perspective:

I am student of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. If I think about the Govt. Jobs, then there are severals for me like desa/pdb (they are govt. I guess , not sure about desco ) or BTTB/BTRC.

Now why shouldn't I join a Govt one ?

My father was an Govt Employee ( retired an year ago ). So I have some experience about this. A honest Govt. employee can't do anything in Bangladesh. Salary is not up the standard. Though there are some benefits, but they ain't good enough. If you stick to honesty, don't possesses a good amount of family property and don't have any other source of income--- then you are gonna definitely suffer in this bad economy. My father showed me what is honesty, same time he also proved why you should not do govt. job if u want to stay honest.

Why Private ?

I think I have the qualification to grab a job in private ( MNCs and others ) companies. I don't need to be dishonest in order to maintain a good social life. Amount of work may be huge compared to Govt. one. Personally, I would like to work more and more, to earn more. But seriously I don't want to be dishonest.

If everybody become selfish like me , then what will happen to country ?

Don't I think about country ? Obviously I do. Somethings I always realize that

* I read in a public university which is financed by peoples of Bangladesh. No doubt that this country owes me a great service.

* Besides that, as a citizen I should always try to serve my country. Today we blame Govt. Institutions for inefficiency. This inefficiency originated from the fact that, we, the young qualified students show little interest in govt. job.

-- but still I am a "social-animal" . You all know how much it hurts when less or equal qualified people gets better money and you can't fulfill your family needs properly. I think, if I join govt one, after few days I will be frustrated. Then either I would give up the job or would be corrupted like many others.

I want to keep honesty all thorough my life. So, I prefer private one.


p.s. I think govt should think about this issue. In our country, we pay some people excessively , invest in some sector more than necessary. But we don't pay our brilliant and capable boys and girls what they deserve.
