Default How do you feel about the presence of these words in Bangla with different meanings?

Well, there are some words that are used too much by us these days. They came in our generation and not before. You probably know all of them, may be already using them in your everyday talks. Take a look at the list.

Seirokom
Jotil
Kothin
Beshi beshi
Kapaye
Dhumaye
Pankha
Ula_dhura
fataye
pochaye
Abar jigay

etc etc. there are many more. Most of these words are used with different meanings than they are naturally used. Unfortunately, Djuice of Grameenphone Ltd. encouraged to use them by hanging big billboards beside the roads. Someday we will grow up, and some of us already have, but we still use them a lot and in any situations. And possibly this will be continued to the next generation.

amader ager genration er manush ra ei word gulo shunle mukh bakay. but soon there will be us in their places, and no one else to protest as the generation before us did, and those words are likely to make their way in to the language if we continue like this. So, how do you feel about these words ?

~ hey .. that's not fair! .. how come i'm so behind? .. i've never used these words before in my life .. as in i used them for the literal meaning .. but not the reformed meaning .. but i do hear people say these words ..
nd i hate to break this to u .. but i think it's pretty KHAT!
even when people say stuff like "armz" or "beefz" in English .. it really irritates me to a great extent .. just sounds too ajob in a sense ..

thas right pori darling
u wanna start beef? LOLZZZZZZZ jkz jkz. hahaha tumarey khuchaitey amar khub moja laggey. i lubh that word. BEEF koto chunky chunky hehehe
anyways

ami agey care kortam nah. k ki bolley.but we are social animals... at least eytar manney ki, manush keno use korey ey shob ghatai tey giye amio slang bola shuru korey disi.

wen i'm with friends its all slang. wen im with a prof its all formal.and wen i'm with mom im just me. diff situations demand diff things.
wen u speak the same tongue as the person talking to u. they feel more comfy around u. in a sense these words represent us, distinguish us.

and being rebelious makes us feel cool. kun jinish korley elders ra bhuru uthabey. amra oyta aru beshi kortey bhalobashi.

out of norm out of norm kortey kortey amra arekta norm ee ber korey feli. lolz

i think these words are popular now, so shobai use korbey ee. its ingrained in our self expression now. but hoyto porey ey terms guli r thakbey nah.

they are gona die down... or either be replaced with others. terms that only we will kno perhaps.

i just feel its a normal thing. i use a few terms, i dunt regularly use all of them.
i guess we all have our favourites by now. lolz and some terms we only use among our friends.

amra ki use kori.. umm. sheyrokom, jotil, joss, part niwa, beil, fata fati.

english i use jokes, meaning its funny or that was a cool pure joke. we just say JOKES, or pure jokes.

homie, home fry... maney dosto. lolz oyta o boli onek DOSTOOOOO TUI KOI etc etc

i had many trini and guyanese friends so ora home fry, homie r beef onek bolto.
amra jokhon joking mood ey thaki we talk like this. but usually we dunt.

dating er arek word : dealing. yeh i'm dealing with so and so maney i'm dating.

oy word ta amar serious weird laggey!

hook-ups... er arek word system korey diwa. lolzzzzzzzz

so yeh there are many terms. learning is fun... using just for amusement is ok. but yeh i dunt want these terms invading everything. a language is beautiful the way it is. some sparks r ok but i dunt want the whole lingo to be replaced by just modern slang words.

k... tc

~ true! but i'm pretty sure i wouldn't be following the trend even if i was back there .. cuz ami ekhan kar trend o follow kori na .. i have my own way of speaking .. hehe ..

lol i just remembered this girl i know .. anything i would say to her .. she would go .. "DRY!" .. if i said .. "oh u know? .. i went to Wonderland!" .. she would go .. "DRY!" .. lol ..
it sounded hilarious in a sense .. nd somehow i started disliking that word .. hehe ..
then there's dealing that Numby mentioned .. i use that word a lot .. nd then hook-up i use .. sometimes .. but not really ..

yo homeyyy what's cookin'? lol ..
