How do you feel when a beggar raises his/her hand to you for money?

Well......it happens almost everyday. How do you feel? Do you feel like giving them money ? Or do you think of them as frauds?


Then again there are some who are really old, probably not capable of work, some are deformed, some are mere children.


Some come for help in madrasas, masjids.......some say they need money for the marriage of their children, some come with signed medical prescriptions and say they need money for their treatment/operation..........


So whats your feeling about the whole thing?

young/middle aged woman with baby = baccha der ghumer osudha khaoyay
ppl asking for money for sick relatives = they never go to the doctor, no matter how much u pay
ppl asking for money for dead relatives = they'll ask it again next day
ppl asking for money showing weird limbs = eww
really old peoples = they r ok... i help them...

feels weird.
because you know they can either be in serious need or be a fraud. so i basically try to help the ones that look in dire need. i hate mothers carrying babies because i dont find using babies to gain sympathy as a great way to beg.

the most greatest beggers ive seen is in uttara i think. there are these ladies who come upto you and compliment you and beg for money in a nice sweet manner. if you shove them away they pop small snakes [ ALIVE SNAKES ] at you ! EXTREMELY SCARY ! so be careful of ladies who seem to carry small wooden boxes in their hands.

and yes last but not the least i hate the lines some beggers quote = " Apnar porikkha bhalo hobe apa...amra doa korbo ne...apnar porikkha bhalo hobe ..kichu den " < maane ei line charle ar uidin kono exam theke thakle poisha na diye upai ase ?!

I heard of another group long ago . They used to carry what we call "Gu" , and they used to threaten if you dont give them money, ora naki gaye lagaye dibe!

1. those are not poisonous .. u can test by taking a bite , but dont kill me if u die

HOLY M'FIN .. .. ki bolbo akdom e bujhtesina .. i'm scared to the bone alreadyyyy nd i'm sitting here in Canada .. next time i'll think about the beggars in Uttara twice before i give them anything ..

~ .. all the time i've spent in Bangladesh .. i've seen many beggars .. in fact, remembering some of the faces scare me til today .. but heck! .. i believe that only old beggars should be helped no matter what .. nd what i mean by old is .. really old nd frail! .. those who r in middle age .. men (r not as popular i think): .. they can work nd therefore, they don't need money from me .. women with kids: .. i think they r pathetic .. first of all .. i don't think most of them r married so why did they go get laid in the first place? .. it's not my problem .. they can friggin take care of their kid now .. i'm not willing to help them .. nd kids: r the most annoying little creatures! gosh!

my dad HATES beggars like ANYTHING .. it just boils his head basically .. u know what he does? .. shey always tar gari tey ekta lomba boro lathi rakhe .. everytime those kids touch my dad's car or anything like that .. he takes it out nd sometimes gari theke ber hoye bhoy dekhay .. i saw this when i went to Dhaka last time .. it made me laugh like anything LOL .. it was quite hilarious to watch actually ..
