Sexual Harassment & Abuse - how to prevent ?

Sex is such a matter in our society, that couldn’t be discussed on public. Mom or Dad, elder sisters or brothers could never discuss about it with youngers. Many of the adult people doesn’t know much about sex also. But it need to be discussed with both male and female children. A clear concept about sex will help to decrease sexual harassment and abuses. And also the people involved with such crimes, have to be behind the bars and punished publicly. A sexually abused girl, in our country, knows only two ways to handle the abusement, one is to cover it up, and the other is to do suicide. Boys become victims of such crimes sometimes. In both ways, the criminal remain unharmed. It’s totally unwanted. They must be punished publicly.

Recently I heard about a victim abused by her brother-in-law, who became brain sick and now she is under mental treatment. Her parents told her not to tell this to anyone, and thus the criminal dared to abuse her few more times. After that she came to act abnormally. She left her house one morning and went to the nearest railway station to do suicide. But some people find her there and took her to the hospital.

There could be some people among us who became victim of such crimes. Sexual abasement can happen anywhere, basically with the girls. Boys take this as a fun in crowded places, in the bus, in the market or on the road. Some bustards do it inside the house also. Personally I get stabbed twice while protesting against those animals in a fair. But we have to protest it everywhere, and make our children, our younger and also ourselves aware about it.

Lets discuss about how we can protest it and prevent it, how we could make ourselves aware about it.

well, u know. it might sound very ironic. but in Canada, there have even been cases where teachers nd reverends of the church abuse kids. the reverends tend to abuse boys more than girls nd it is a pretty sick concept.
nd dark_saint, u can't really say it only happens in Bangladesh. it happens in every country on this Earth. go to some African countries such as Kenya. women nd girls there r publically raped nd no one is there to do anything about it. they use girls as toys.
see, thing is that everything depends on the victims. they need to speak up nd protest. they shouldn't be ashamed nd stay quiet cuz if they do, then all they're doing is hurting themselves. they need to fight against it nd prevent things like this from happening in the future. the laws should be changed. but then again, in order to change the law, there needs to be a stable government which a lot of countries lack, unfortunately.

Addabaj -- by the way, i think the thread title should be changed to "SEXUAL ABUSE" nd not "SEXUAL HARASSMENT". they're two different things. harassment does not necessarily mean to attack physically. teasing can be harassment as well. but abuse has a more violent nd deeper meaning nd i think that is what ur issue is about.

I was trying to highlight both of that. Anyway, title changed.

In Australia, last year there was a sexual abasement case happened which got a lot media coverage. Two Pakistani brothers raped a girl for seven days, and when they faced the tribunal, the mentioned that rape is a culture in Pakistan and it is normal for the Muslims. There was not much protests agings it from the Muslims and the Pakistanis. Our Muslim leader was tried to save our brothers (!!!).

Rape CAN NOT be a culture in anywhere of this world. Sexual abusement must be prevented. No matter it happens in the urban or rural areas, in the day light or dark.
