The liberation war was fought for a myriad of different reasons, and the prime motivation for the 9 month long struggle was the creation of a sovereign bangladeshi state.

And you suppose the war had nothing to do with our Language? Langue is one of the major elements that represent/make up a culture, a nation and here you are saying that language is not symbiotic?!

And whether the indigenous people are Bangladeshi or not is a whole different ball game. Some people think they are, some think they aren't. They still don't have all the rights that we have as Bangladeshis. Many, many of them participated in the liberation war, but have not been recognized for their efforts, mind you.

If you can't be convinced that the way you (and your peers) communicate compromises the integrity of the language then there really is nothing to debate about.
