Official Press Release:
The emergence of young pop star Tishma in the modern music arena was not time-consuming. Tishma first stormed into the Bangladesh music scene three years ago with her debut album 'Tara' (Star),
Breaking all previous sales records to become the top-selling female debut artist in Bangla music, it is a record which she still holds up to today. Her powerful five-octave voice and glamorous energetic stage presence created a revolution and she single-handedly changed a lot of the Bangla music scene. She went on to become the highest-selling and recognized Bangla female pop artist.
This Eid, Tishma has just released her brand new seventh studio album "Ccholonar Daaba", which has already received an overwhelming response from fans.
Released from the country's one of the biggest audio label Sangeeta, Tishma's latest album "Cholonar Daaba" is an excellent compilation of some superb and stirring RnB, rock and classical tunes. The songs on this album were produced by Bappa Majumder, S.I. Tutul, and Tinku, and the lyrics were written by Marjuk Russel, Shahan Kobondh, T.I. Antar, and Tishma herself.
Tishma believes "Cholonar Daaba" to be by far her most mature album to date. She says, "This is actually the first time that I've been able to exert so much control over my sound and choice of tracks. In the past I didn't really have much creative control over certain aspects of my songs such as lyrics, but this time I've been able to work with a line up of truly talented and brilliant producers who willingly cooperated with my creative fantasies. And I believe I have finally been able to come up with an album that is much, much closer to the kind of sound that I've been aiming for."
Tishma's latest album is full of some very special surprises. The song "Boyfriend", penned by Tishma herself, holds the honour of being the first original fully English number ever to be released by a Bangladeshi female artist. In the song "Bhoot", Tishma sings a beautiful sample of opera in Bangla for the first time ever. After Tishma's first classical number "Megh Jhorana", from her previous album, rocked the whole nation last year and stunned listeners with Tishma's previously unheard adeptness and maturity in classical music, at the request of fans she has included a number of fine classical songs in her new album, such as "Charti Deyal", "Projapoti" and the title track "Cholonar Daaba". "Sweetheart" has a completely irresistible hot clubby vibe and addictive English chorus, while the lively captivating "Chander Meye Josna", written by Marjuk Russel, is a witty and catchy sequel song to the famous song "Beder Meye Josna". The dreamy mystical arabic-gypsy-influenced "Dukkho Raater Mounota", softly highlighted by Tishma's soft lilting voice, is also a pleasing treat to the ear.
