Kaun Banega Crorepati (widely know as KBC) is an Indian game show based on the UK Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? It first aired in 2000 and is hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. This episode was the first appearance of Amitabh Bachchan on Indian television. In 2005, the show was restarted after a four-year hiatus, and renamed Kaun Banega Crorepati Dwitiya (Kaun Banega Crorepati the Second, or KBC2) in which the prize amount was doubled to 2 crore rupees.

It was closed by Star network after the host Amitabh Bachchan fell ill. After a gap of almost a year, the ‘two crore question’ will be beamed on television screens across the country again this time by none other than Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan . Sources say that, this time around 'KBC' will be a youthful and light-hearted ambience that will greet the participants of the ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ as the third edition of the most popular and famous game shows on Indian television, goes on air on January 22 with the charming and effervescent SRK as its host.

For one, the famous baritone that marked mega superstar Amitabh Bachchan ’s interactions with the contestants of the KBC will be replaced by the youthful effervescence and friendly banter of the King Khan, as SRK is lovingly known in film circles and among millions of his fans across the country and abroad.

In an interview King Khan said on his venture KBC: "I am anxious. I’m always anxious. You people all think I am pompous but that’s a just a front for me. Inside, I’m anxious. For me it’s the creative process. You create something in isolation — alone with your thoughts in the moment — and when it is exposed, there is a huge explosion of public opinion. It’s like painting. You work in solitude and then you exhibit it. In the film industry, I am sure, I know. I know where I’m headed and whether it’s in the right direction. Here, I don’t know."

Considering the outcome of the Movie DON, no one can deny the charming star power of the Shahrukh over Indian people. Only time will say whether the Saga continues its success and goes to new height or not.
