Get Ready For the 21st February! Enable Bangle in your PC

So here i m giving a small tutorial for make ur Windows Xp Pc Bangla enable (though there are lots of helps available online but maybe they are incomplete and not easy to find :-/ ):

Step 1 (Configuring XP) : You have to do this to make your pc able to handle complex language script like Bangla. (Remember you will need your xp installation cd to complete this step) So,
* Go to Control Panel
* Find "Regional and Language Options" Icon. Open it and you will see the Regional and Language Options window.
* Click "Language" tab.
* Check the Install files for complex scripts and right-to-left languages check box.
* Then Click OK. Now your windows will prompt you for the Installation CD of Windows, give it and some thing will get installed.
* Don't Restart your pc to follow the next steps.

Step 2 (Good Fonts) : By default Microsoft give us a font called "Vrinda" which has bangla unicode font set. This vrinda is a complete Bangla font set but i think it is too ugly to use!! So better Idea to use another bangla font. I recommand you to download any of these two fonts(or both (: )->

or AponaLohit : http://www.joomla-bd.org/en/download.../download.html
or search google for any other bangla font if u wish (but remember most of the bangla font found online are not complete!!).
Now install the font file in your "OS:\\Windows\Fonts" folder [* OS is the drive where you install XP or vista].

Setp 3 (Set Fonts in Your Browser):
After downloading and installing the fonts, you need to set your preferred Bangle font in the Browser settings. By default it is "vrinda" , so if u like vrinda then you can skip this step.
* For IE, this is Tools->Internet Options, Click Fonts button in General Tab. From the dialog box, select Bengali as the language script and the Font of your choice.

* For Firefox, go to Tools->Options-> Content tab-> Advance Button
Choose Select Fonts for : Bengali, then you preferred fonts and default Encoding : Unicode utf-8.

* For Opera , go to Tools->Preferences->AdvanceTab->Fonts. Here find the international Fonts button Choose Bengali as writing system and select your favorite font for bangla.

If you come upto this then your PC is ready for all bangla unicode based websites or files.

Step 4 (Installing Bangla Keyboard Layout ): After this step you will be able to type Bangla in any unicode enable text editor.
Download and install this Keyboard layout, It is UniJoy keyboard layout (almost similar to Bejoy keyboard layout)
For Xp : SourceForge.net: Downloading ...
For Vista : SourceForge.net: Downloading ...
After installing the keboard layout, Follow these points:
* Go to Control Panel
* Find "Regional and Language Options" Icon. Open it and you will see the Regional and Language Options window.
* Click "Language" tab.
* Click Details Button and "Text Service and Input Languages" Dialog Box will Open


* Click Add Button : "Add input language" dialog box will open.


* From Keyboard layout/IME - Find Bangla - Unijoy.


* Now you can do an aditional task to convinently switch between Bangla and English Keyboard layouts.
Follow this image and Set two different key Sequence for both 2nd and the 3rd Option.


So from now in any text editor you just click those key squence and can switch between English to Bangla Or Bangle to English.

So Every thing is done Now restart you computer. After restarting your computer is ready for Bangla

এখন আপনি যদি আমার এই লেখাটা ঠিকমত পড়তে পারেন তাহলে আপনি প্রস্তুত এখন আপনার দায়িত্ব হচ্ছে বাংলা টাইপিং শিখা। এটি একটি বাংলা ফোনেটিক টাইপিং এর টিউটরিয়াল এবং এটি বাংলা যুক্তাক্ষর এর তালিকা। আর ভাল বুদ্ধি হল একটা বাংলা লেআউট এর কিবোর্ড কিনেফেলা তাতে বাংলা টাইপিং শিখা সহজ হবে।
আর সব শেষে এইখানে বাংলাতে একটা উত্তর লিখেফেলেন। আর কোন সমস্যা হলে তো অবশ্যয়ি জানাবেন ।

one of the main fault of ur writing was the a-kar e-kar .it was not in place and it was hard to read......if u can post like this by adding pics it wont be a bad idea...but i dont know if it costs points to add pics?

U just follow the first step of the tutorial and ur A-kar E-kar problem will solved.. This is Called phonotic typing. See the phonotic typing link at the last of the tutorial!!

And about pics : it will not cost any point as i don't attach them in golpo... they r coming from other site..
