The nation mourns the assassination of Bangladesh''s founding-father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman today (Friday) as the government has arranged observance of the National Mourning Day at state level this time around.

Back in 1975, a group of disgruntled army officers killed Bangabandhu along with most members of his family in the early hours of August 15 at his historic residence at Dhanmondi Road 32.
Col (retd) Farooq Rahman and Col (retd) Abdur Rashid led the putsch that also overthrew the Mujib government.
Bangabandhu''s two daughters-Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana-survived the bloodbath as they were in Germany on that black night.

But it's sorrow to say Justice not meted out 33 years into murder
&
it observes National Mourning Day belong after 6 years
