In a major post-emergency decision, the government has ordered all satellite-based private television channels to stop broadcasting news programmes and bulletins and all current affairs talk shows. Top TV executives told bdnews24.com that the government's principal information officer (PIO) made "the Bangabhaban decision" known to their newsrooms at around 8pm. They said they had already stopped all news programmes.

Reconstitution of the council of advisors of interim government within 2-3 days


President Professor Dr Iajuddin Ahmed decided to stand down from the post of chief adviser (CA) of the nonparty caretaker government, amid an insurmountable standoff between two rival political camps over the general election.


He announced the decision while addressing the nation on the state-run radio and television tonight, after declaring a state of emergency.


The President invoked the emergency powers to stem the tide of unrest triggered by election-resistance programmes launched by a grand alliance led by Awami League.


He said, “The senior-most adviser has been given the charge of chief advisor before reconstituting the council of advisers of the interim caretaker government in a day or two.”

its very normal that govt has prohibited the sat based tv channels to broad cast news. If we dnt know the real truth it wil be easier for the stakeholders to legitimize their activities.

Just now I hav watched the speech given by President Iajuddin.

Now he has realized that its not possible to hold a credible election without a voter roll.
The election wont b credible if all the major parties dnt participate.
now he realize that his consumption of power 'BITORKITO'
