Morreover edge allows the existing GSM or the TDMA carriers to give the sophisticated 3G services, offer the full Global Roaming, anywhere

Based on an 8 PSK(modulation tech like BPSK or Qpsk) modulation, it allows higher bit rate accross the air Interface.

1 Symbol for every 3 bits. Thus, EDGE Rate = 3x GPRS Rate.

notice the type of the modulation used in EDge over GPrs.

WAP is Wireless Aplication Protocol which will work over GPRS/Edge.. GPRS/EDGE allows WAP to work in packet mode instead of circuit mode (And it will be much faster as well).. WAP also works over existing packet technologies such as CDPD, and other 3G technologies such as WCDMA.. Er theke shohoj kore kivabe bolbo bujhtesina ..

Only GP is providing.
AKTEL has fininshed testing in Dhaka. Will soon release. Would be faster than GP.

You should get around 10+ Kbps with GP and a EDGE Enabled device.

WAP is different and cannot be compared to these two.

WAP is a protocol that is used in OLDER handsets to connect to the internet. Special types of websites were built for them --> wap.mig33.com .. etc . So that its easier for the mobiles to load

But modern handsets allow you to browse internet via HTTP ( normal , like we do in PC )

da best and lowest price set fro edge is nokia 6020. it supports edge and very well supported by gp and has good windows drivers. it supports 177kbps. u can opt 4 more speed (upto 230kbps) but those sets will cost u more. dont waste ur time on 3g coz ull never see 3g in BD. mofo's in our information ministry r busy with ridiculas laws and banning tv channels and jaminder like overhead taxation rather than really doing what they r suppossed to do (like FCC). they could start by resolving the serious tech problem they created regarding introducing 3g in BD.
